🎢 Rollercoaster Champions! 🎢
What an incredible day for our Year 7s from The Discovery Academy and The Excel Academy! Some of our talented students headed to Keele University for the Higher Horizons+ Rollercoaster Competition, and they certainly did us proud. 🌟
After spending a full day meticulously designing their coasters, the team stepped up to present their innovative ideas to a panel of judges. While the scores were being tallied, the energy stayed high in a physics workshop where students built their own cars—and we’re thrilled to announce that Team Disco took the top spot! 🚗💨
The excitement reached fever pitch during the final results as our duo from The Discovery Academy were crowned the overall competition winners! 🏆 They’ve walked away with brilliant engineering books and tickets to Alton Towers! 🎢🎡
This challenge perfectly highlighted the Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing Gateway, showing our students how classroom concepts translate into real-world technical careers.
Every student was a total credit to their academy—well done for showing such amazing creativity and teamwork! 👏🎓

🌟 An Inspiring Day for Year 4! 🌟
Our Year 4 students enjoyed a fantastic day experiencing their own Alpha Day at the beautiful Packwood Haugh School. It was a brilliant opportunity for the children to explore the school grounds while engaging in a variety of enriching and challenging outdoor activities.
Throughout the day, students demonstrated impressive growth in leadership, speaking, and listening. They tackled teamwork challenges with enthusiasm, mastered kite flying, and delved into bushcraft—learning the art of natural camouflage during a spirited game of hide-and-seek. Beyond the physical fun, there was a strong focus on mindfulness; the children enjoyed restorative Yoga and a wellness walk where they discussed the vital importance of sustainability and protecting our planet. 🌍✨
We extend a massive thank you to Packwood Haugh for hosting such a memorable Alpha Day. Our students returned with wonderful stories and strengthened friendships, having made the most of every moment. 😊👏
