Pat has spent 25 years in Local Government working in Portsmouth, Stoke-on-Trent and London. During this time, he managed a range of services for young people including youth services, Connexions, targeted youth support and teenage pregnancy services. His last position was as Strategic Manager (Assistant Director) for Young People’s Services with Southwark Council in London.
Pat has a degree in Community and Youth Studies; a Post Graduate Diploma and Masters in the ‘Ethics of Social Welfare’ and an MBA. He is also a trustee of Launch It Paisley and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
After taking voluntary redundancy from local government, Pat moved into the voluntary sector as CEO for Launch It and has been busy moving Launch It from a London-based organisation to one which is expanding across the country. He has a passion for working with and developing opportunities for young people, particularly those who are dealing with social or economic challenges and has lived experience of facing these challenges himself.
