Andrew Reid

Andy is a Trustee of the Alpha Academies Trust and a member of the Standards Committee.
He served as one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Schools for 16 years, to the end of 2007, becoming Head of School Improvement in Ofsted in 2003 and Head of Institutional Inspections and Frameworks in 2005. As an HMI, he inspected both primary and secondary schools.
From January 2008, Andy was an educational consultant, working with local authorities and multi-academy trusts supporting the improvement of primary and secondary schools. He has also supported educational improvement overseas, notably in Iraq from 2010 to 2022, but also in several other countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Andy’s holds degrees in history and education.
